Thank you! I was at my wit's end trying to figure out how to get my dogs hair out of the back of the car's carpet. :).
I was cleaning my car yesterday for 3 hours!!! I could probably save some time with this! :) Next time I'll try it. Does it work on the seats?
light bulb!!! this works great. i've read also where you can use some fabric softener and water to help add static clean. i'll have to try that when i get some fabric softener. i've also seen that the pumice stone works well on the carpet. the rubber gloves are working but it's very time consuming. perhaps once i get this initial 'coat' off (haha) it will get easier. thanks for the tip!!!
A pumice stone works extremely well on the carpet and it pulls the hair up really good into a ball and it dose not really take much time. Had to skip a lot of the video to get to the meat but the method is great and works really well! Thanks!Aw it looks like the back of my old Pulsar. I tried using the back of a Zoom Groom and that worked pretty good too!For just 7 easy payments of $3.99 this can be yours... Or you could just man up and use some elbow grease for FREE!!!I discovered this on accident the other day while removing the seats from my recently purchased used car. I had purchased some green think cleaning nitrile gloves to handle the crud under the rear seats, and as I swiped my hand along the floor carpet, I noticed it was picking up all the hair. I would have done it a while ago if I had seen this video!A pumice stone works a little more effectively; however, the gloves work for those hard to reach places. Thanks for this vid. I have a white boxer and a navy car interior. I just tried this and you can't tell he's been in there! It WORKS people.
Oh my!! I have spent countless grueling hours over the years trying to remove dog hair from my car (4 large dogs, and a small car treated like a truck), and this is a dream come true! I send you huge gratitude!
great method, it does work! What I use in my shop is a RUBBER squeegee. 4 in.. and a 45 deg angle on one side. i bought it i n an auto store in a window tinting kit.. it's the only thing efficient that works when your on the clock. Plus saves me a couple bucks on buying gloves. While I have not tried rubber gloves, I have had a lot of success using sand paper and a sand paper sponge.
Great video! I saw elsewhere online that spraying 50/50 water/fabric softener helps neutralize static cling of the hair as well. I'm cleaning out the back of a Subaru Outback Wagon as well. ; ) I'm a Subaru mechanic- just bought one to fix up for my sister.
i have 2 boxers and they shed so much which is odd because both their hair is short. hopefully this would work. i bet it will.
Can't thank you enough. After 7 years of accumulating dog hair and several failed attempts of vacuuming and using lint rollers, I left immediately after watching this to the store and bought 4 pairs of the yellow rubber gloves. It took 2 1/2 hours & 2 pairs but my car looks brand new. THANKS!!finally- great vid- I have a boxer and her hair is so fine and short and stuck to everything in the back seat and rear of my jeep- thanks for sharing. Wow, that is so great! I'm definitely going to try it on my car and my husband's car! It kinda makes sense using rubber gloves since it haves elastic fibers that gets stuff stuck to them like velcro! If this works I'll be sure to post this on my facebook profile for others!

So in my experience the pledge device works best if you wiggle it back and forth, gradually working your way along a surface. In fact, I think that is what the instructions tell you to do (I don't remember with any certainty because it has been a long time).
I have 4 cats. I use a damp bar rag which is really textured. Actually any rough textured cloth will do. :o).
I found that the Eureka Easy Clean hand vacuum to work AWESOME on cat hair for couches, bed, and anything else!!!! OMG this thing is a GOD SEND!!! Don't hesitate to buy this!!! The only thing I haven't used it for is clothing because I loaned it out to another hairy pet owner...For larger jobs, like the couch, bed, etc, DO, DO TRY THIS VACUUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) (owner of 2 very hairy, very sheddy kitties!!!).
red fabric on it and the contact area is an oval or rectangular shape depending on the iteration of the model, [similar to the Pledge item] but it does not have rollers, and you just roll the collected fur into a ball to clean it. It works best for me, & have only a $5 1-time cost after 30 years! There are other versions of it from WalMart, BB&B, Container Store & similar places. I want to try the "Chom Chom Roller" but it is pricey at about $25.
Molly gives the "look" to the camera at 3:14 LOL. I've used the rubber-bristled brush thing but it works best as a tile/hardwood floor brush/squeegie if you have the version that twists onto a long handle/extension pole. The hand-held version works but you have to use a scrubbing motion in a round/oval path that really picks up the fur using static electricity but true, you have to physically pick up/remove the large clump of fur from the pile. The best one I've used for decades has a strange.
Have you seen the Sticky Buddy? It's really gimmicky, but it's a washable lint roller with a rubber bit on top, with rubber nodules, they're not super long like the brush, and cone-ish shaped, it's really good at collecting fur (espec on my sofa) and then use the roller to pick up the collected stuff, so more-eco friendly too :) My cat is a short hair but she malts like there is no tomorrow. She sits on the bed, giant cat-arse fur shape :').
how would you wash cat hair off your cloths in the washing machine? have you tried those link balls that looks like velcro balls? :) thanks.
No, I never have heard of them or seen them. Cat hair in the wash is a challenge for me, too. I've been looking for solutions. I will keep you updated if I do find something!
someone suggested using the dryer with drying sheets (I think they're called). I've never heard of them.
I was wondering if you've ever tried furr-zoff? I usually used the Pet Hair Magnet, which takes a lot of effort to use (the hand held vacuum was far more effective), but I needed a pet hair remover that isn't dependent on an electrical socket. :(.
Cute vid. I have a beige micro-fiber sofa that my cats love to nap on. The sofa is a magnet for their hair...it is almost im. I do the vacuum/ hand held vacuum/ rubber gloves/ tape stuff and it all works pretty well. However what do I do with a blanket? I try laying it on a hard surface - couch, floor, bed - but it keeps bunching up as I remove the hair (dog hair). Can you please give me any suggestions? Many thanks.Hmm, I find washing blankets help remove most of the cat hair...but you can also try having someone help you hold the blanket taught while vacuuming it.In a bind I have used sticky tape to get cat fur off of my clothes *ashamed face*. I'm presuming that your cats have a litter box could you do a video on keeping that area clean & mainly deodorised naturally? My cat gets all sniffy & snotty if I use any artificial cleaners and she's none too keen on vinegar either! There is a (rubbish) video of her on my channel. Oh yes, that's too funny. I actually use a disposable (and bio-degradable) litterbox which we throw out once a month. I can't stand litterboxes! I will do a video one of these days, we get asked a ton. I am going to watch the cat video now, can't get enough of those ;). My kitty never stops shedding, ever. I practically vacuum every morning, and wet brush the carpet with soft brush once a week. The lint roller paper is great but annoying with the left behind trash. I keep that for my clothes and the bed, but thinking of getting a small hand held vacuum just for the bed and sofa. Because I would feel weird use my floor vacuum for the bed. I will try the pledge roller, instead of the handheld vacuum, so thanx for the info, as always.Today your pet hair's garbage, tomorrow when your pet of 10 or 15 years dies, anything they left behind you find will be a keepsake. I found one of my cat's whiskers where she used to sit and sleep, I felt like I found a four leaf clover.
i've heard squeegee could help with the carpet but i havent tried it but if you want to give it a try thats a thing :).
what also woks is rubber gloves. and the squeegee is great on carpet and helps to keep you from constantly having to declog your vacuum. what i like to do is "sweep" my carpeted bedroom with a big squeegee and then vacuum. (i guess if you have an awesome vaccum you wouldn't have to constantly declog it tho... mine is pretty cheap -.-").
that rubber brush you have there is meant to ball up hair so its easy to pic up and works well on everything.i also use a small cordless vacuum with that same ruber brush on the end.its good for use when pet hair gets bad so you don't have to drag the vacuum out all the time.
I hate the smell of cigarette any tips to get rid of this smell? Bye the way i really liked your video, it really worked for me.
Thanks! Hmm, a great way to get rid of the smell is to stop smoking indoors. It's nearly impossible to remove that smell from a home unless you change/clean the drapes, steam clean or replace the carpets, and re-paint or wash your walls. Cigarette smoke is extremely challenging to do away with.
You can also use a scrubbing glove. You know the ones for your body in the shower to clean your funiture. Wet it a little bit and you can whipe all the hairs together and grab it. :D.
Me too! x) everything it's all smooth and easy to see without all the annoying animations other videos have :}. My short hair pitbull leaves hair everywhere! I didn't find the pledge thing helpful for her hair. And ur supposed to use sweeping, back & forth motions. Not just one sweeping motion. I think it would work better if u tried that. Yes, I've heard that! That's too bad it doesn't work...a vacuum with brush attachment works too :). I have the same problem with my beagle. Her hairs are so thick and stiff that they actually get stuck into fabric. I didn't have any luck with the pledge sweeper either. I had to buy a new vacuum that was designed to pick up pet hair. It's a pricey option but worth it in the long run! Another cool thing you could do is get a de-shedding tool to use on your dog. I bought one and my dog sheds a lot less. Hope this helps!!You kitty is beautiful...she looks like my Siamese that I grew up with. I have a rubber brush similar to the one you use. The only thing I use it for is to brush off people's couches. It was supposed to be amazing and make my work life easier...it's "eh". With my own duvet...I have a blanket for my kitties to sleep on (sometimes they do!) I just throw my duvet in the dryer for a bit. Works wonders. I'm loving your videso!
Good to know, yeah I don't find that rubber brush to be overly exciting. Glad you enjoy the videos!
Many people have said this, I like the tool, I think it's good, and yes, there are better techniques than what I demo'd in the video to getting the hair up.
What a pretty cat! Thanks for the tips. I'm a new sub and I LOVE your videos!! Keep them coming!I have used the Pledge fabric sweeper for a long time now, and I love it. It actually works better than you are showing, because you are not using it properly in this video. It says right on the box to slide it "side to side in short strokes" because of the directions of the rollers, this motion scoops all the hair to the center to collect in the sweeper.
The fabric sweeper works best if you sweep it back and forth in a quick motion as opposed to one way sweep like you did in the video. FYI. Love your videos!
I dont see how vacuming helps i have mostly tile in my house fucking couches are still full of god damn hair along with beds and clothing >.< i mean you can get most hair off but after washing everything STILL HAS FUCKING HAIR. I wish I could help you with this. I don't quite know because I've never dealt with it. I will look into it and see if I can come up with anything for you.I have the black rubber brush thingy...I use it to brush my dogs. It works amazing! I only paid $1.00 at dollar tree. Best dollar I have spent on pet stuff yet. Try brushing the cats?
2 Auntie Climactick I shaved my long hair cat! Lol it grew back but I helped a lot I gave her a lion cut it was really cute!
It was entertaining, I don't know if i would do it again though ,my cat resented me a little lol... probably because i laughed every time i saw her. Thanks for replying!! i love your videos.Your rubber brush thing will work better of you stroke it in circles, it rolls the fur into manageable balls, the same thing can be accomplished with latex gloves (slightly wet) probably faster. I love your videos! I have a cat who sheds like crazy and this is a problem at our house too. Can you shave a cat? (wink). Oh that's really interesting to know! I'll try that! We had a client who shaved her cat, however she said the cat was none too happy about it.You should also try the shedmonster! It's a deshedder to use on the cats. It does not hurt the cats and it works really well! And afterwards the cats are sooo much softer! I got one from Wal-mart for about $8. walmart.com/ip/ShedMonster-Cat--Deshedding-Tool-Cats/20713217. I got a Furminator for the cats on recommendation from a friend and my cousin who is a vet. Malee likes it and my other cat, Paislee, hates it. I have heard it gets rid of 'shopping bags' full of hair. However, I have not had this experience myself. Either way it's a good thing to brush the cats and get rid of whatever hair I can.I have to get on that. I think I have a really good one coming up, at least a blog post. Because I just had an experience with one of the cats that I think needs to be shared with everyone. Yep, an accident. I was really, really not happy about it.I have two very long haired Himalayans and know what you mean...lots of hair. I also have a short haired cat and an American Stafford dog. My dog actually sheds the most, but her hair is very short so not as annoying. Also seen other videos use a rubber glove and vacuum on the couches and carpeting .tried it works pretty well. I didn't read all the comments so may be I am repeatng but: my conclusion for best efficiency/least garbage, is remove most of the hair with the Pledge thingy and finish off with the sticky lint remover.
The pledge fabric sweeper works much better with short strokes than with long ones , just a tip . Its so hard to get the fabric sweeper these days as theyre sold out at most major outlets(including amazon.com).
does it work for your own hair? i got hair in my shower room and it doesnt come off with just tissues coz its damp. Siamese are awful as far as shedding goes. I have a siamese and she sheds far more than my black cats. I find the biggest help to keeping hair off of everything to begin with is brushing the cats daily! Oh and fish oil supplement on their food. That's interesting - fish oil...yeah, mine shed like crazy. One likes being brushed and I do it when I can and the other one flinches so it's not worth it :). I always forget to add it to their food, but when I do it works well. LOL I can't brush all my cats either. One will run if she so much as sees the brush. They also have mitt/brush things that you put on like a glove and it has little rubber things on it and you can just pet your cat with the glove on and it brushes them with it.
